Coyotes ink C Kearns to 1-year contract (AP)

The Phoenix Coyotes have signed free-agent center Bracken Kearns to a one-year, two-way contract. Terms of the deal were not announced Tuesday. The 29-year-old Kearns had 15 goals, 36 assists and 99 penalty minutes in 80 games last season for Rockford of the AHL. He has played 266 career AHL games with Rockford, Norfolk, Milwaukee and Cleveland after four years at the University of Calgary. [read full article]

Coyotes re-sign LW Picard to 1-year deal (AP)

The Phoenix Coyotes have re-signed left winger Alexandre Picard to a one-year contract. Terms of the deal were not released Monday. The 24-year-old Picard was acquired in a trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets on March 3 and sent to Phoenix's San Antonio AHL affiliate, where he had nine goals and six assists in 16 games. Coyotes sign Lepisto, Montoya, Ebbett (AP)

The Phoenix Coyotes re-signed defenseman Sami Lepisto and goaltender Al Montoya to one-year contracts Friday and also signed free-agent center Andrew Ebbett to a one-year deal. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed. The 25-year-old Lepisto had one goal and 10 assists in 66 games last season, his first with the Coyotes. [read full article]

Coyotes re-sign D Morris for 4 years (AP)

The Phoenix Coyotes have re-signed defenseman Derek Morris and signed left wing Ray Whitney but lost standout defenseman Zbynek Michalek to a lucrative deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Coyotes acquired Morris from the Boston Bruins in one of a flurry of deals by Phoenix at the March 4 trade deadline. [read full article]
